Paragliding accuracy Landing Championship – Event Info

Location: Outskirts of Erbil City, Kurdistan, Iraq (20 minutes from city center)
Site Details: Mountain elevation 103 meters above the landing zone; excellent for target landing; takeoff possible in any direction within 180°.
Arrival Date: Apr 08, 2026 (Erbil International Airport)
Eligibility: Qualified pilots with a valid FAI Sporting License; priority based on FAI rankings and championship registration dates.
Requirement: All pilots must sign a liability waiver at the site.
Safety: Participation involves inherent risks; pilots are responsible for their own safety and must follow all instructions.

Selections rules

Pilots who have priority for participation and will be accepted into the competition must be qualified pilots holding a valid FAI Sporting License issued by internationally recognized federations.

Priority for acceptance will be based on the pilots’ FAI rankings, in addition to their registration dates for the competition, provided that all licenses are active and valid at the time of the event.

Flying site

The competition site is located in Erbil City, just 20 minutes away from the city center, situated on the beautiful outskirts of Erbil.
The mountain’s hight is 103 meters above the landing zone, providing an excellent location for accuracy landing.

The site is highly suitable for the competition, and in case of wind changes, takeoff can be performed from any direction within a 180-degree range, ensuring safe and flexible flying conditions.
